List Building: Designing Your Website Well To Help Grow Your List

May 1st, 2011 Jeff D McQueen

Every new Internet marketer knows that in order to grow your list, you need to spread your website link as far as possible so all kinds of people can access your website. It should also be spread in the right areas to ensure that only your target market sees your page.
There are lots of ways to build your list through Internet marketing and often times people get so caught up with this that they forget about what they are actually promoting.

Think about what happens when people click your link. Will they like what they see? Why should they sign up in your website? If the visitors do not like what they see, they will leave your page without opting in your form which is your top objective for growing a list. It means that you are getting traffic, but not getting any leads which are pretty much a waste. But if you design your website well using the techniques below, more people will sign up without delay.

Keep your Website Simple and Short

If your website has too much text or cluttered with too many graphics elements, some may leave due to confusion. The same thing can occur if too much scrolling is required. Try to lay out your site in such a way that the most important text is there and that the opt in form is found just below it. It not only increases the chances of traffic turning into leads, but also speeds up the growth of your list since the visitors do not have to read as much.

Emphasize the Opt In Form

At the same time, you should also add some special highlights to make your opt in form more attractive so that it literally invites the visitor to join your list. It should also be eye catching so that not much effort is needed in actually locating the form. Forms that are not very obvious may lead to even the most interested people to leave in disappointment. Basic tricks involve using brighter colors or adding decorations to the text boxes.

Add Disclaimers

With all the scam sites spreading around, people demand comfort in any website that they are signing up for and one way to keep them comfortable is by adding sections like "Earning Disclaimers", "Privacy Policies", and "Terms of Agreements". Sure not everyone will click these links, but the sight of those links add some legitimacy to your site. Even putting a simple message stating that their e-mail address won't be sold to other parties can lead people to sign up without any regrets. Of course you have to stand by these disclaimers so you can be fully trusted.

Avoid Hyping up your Site

The content of your site is very important no matter how short or lengthy it is. Remember that you are promoting your affiliate program not only to help yourself make money, but also to give people exactly what they want. Just by stating the facts and benefits of whatever you are promoting should be enough in getting them convinced as hyping can sometimes lead people to expect too much or think that you are desperately in need of list growth.

To summarize this all, all you need is a clean website design with content that is direct to the point. Then you can start marketing with confidence as your design does the convincing for you.
